About

Hello everyone!! About me.. well let’s see. I am a mother of 4 great children, on disability from my job so I have alot of time on my hands which is the purpose of this blog to get my thoughts, vents, questions out about things going on in society, particularly the black community and the effects the music and entertainment industry is having on our community especially our youth. I hope to create a positive blog that will encourage mature adult discussion and allow my readers to enjoy themselves while discussing a variety of issues. If you have any questions or concerns regarding anything that I post please feel free to contact me in the comments section. This is still a work in progress so bear with me as I learn my way around this thing called blogging. Thanks for visiting and I hope that you return.. and tell your friends!

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed reading your blog and I wish you much success with it. I’m a long time lurker of SR.com and I do agree wholeheartedly with you post regarding commenting mannerisms. You really hit the nail on the head and it’s good to know that I wasn’t the only one that thought something was a tad bit OFF about it all. Good luck with your blog and I look forward to reading upcoming posts and participating in mature discussions here.

Thank you so much!! You are not the only one and I just had to say something about it, I’ve made comments on there but they either don’t understand or simply don’t care that they’ve made reading and commenting on the site hard for those who aren’t interested in other people’s sex lives. To be honest, the more time I spend online and reading blogs the more disturbed I am by the mental state of so many in our communities and the lack of decency, intelligence and morals. I’ll do a post on that but it really bothers me. I’ve also been reading the site for years and in just a few short months it’s gone from an adult forum to discuss issues, joke and laugh about celebs and society to what is going on now. I’m not going to leave the site but at the same time, I often have to skip over comments, choose not to comment or I end up reading the comments and start feeling sick. I’m still learning my way around the blogging thing but I am working on a new post and look forward to discussing it with you. Thanks again

I agree. I actually posted on the issue once a while back (maybe when it first began) and that’s when I realized that they’re just a different breed of women (and I use that term loosely) than I’m used to engaging with. It’s definitely a moral issue or lack thereof. I’m no angel myself but I do have boundaries and morals. When a person casually posts any and everything about their personal and sex lives on a public blog …not to mention with a picture next to the comment …you really have to question their morals. For instance, I feel like I represent myself as a woman, my kids, and my family with everything I do so I have to be cautious of what I display on the internet for the world to see because no matter how you slice it …it is a reflection of myself. I used to think that you can SHAME a person into doing better or realizing their wrongdoings but when a person has no morals …they have no shame. So I stopped commenting about the issue because it would be like beating a dead horse. Anywhoo …didn’t mean to go on and on just spilling my 2 cents. Oh …that “resident recreational lesbians” comment was PRICELESS. lol

Lol thank you and I feel the same way. I represent myself and my family in all that I do and I refuse to put out an image anywhere that does not match with the beliefs and morals that I have set for my family and myself. I’m far from perfect and am quick to acknowledge that but I won’t shame myself especially not in a forum that I have no control over who is viewing it. And negative energy/behavior is contagious which is why I feel that so many are going along with it silently and then finding themselves contributing to it. I also don’t find it a coincidence that so many are now finding themselves in the same position and scenarios, cheating on boyfriends, experimenting with women, break ups etc because once you see one person get away with a certain behavior human nature especially in weak minded individuals kicks in and you’ll also be tempted to try the same things or find that negative energy being reflected in your own life. I don’t want to harp on the issue too much but I remember reading a study awhile back (I’m going to try and find it) that pretty much said the same thing in regards to internet postings and social media and networking.
